    About Me

    My Why:

    Having enjoyed a great career in operations and project management roles in adult social care and hospitality over the last 25 years, I decided to focus on what I love the most - People, and Workplace Culture.

    As a General Manager, Operations Manager and Project Manager, my work gave me opportunities to lead, support, and develop individuals and teams.

    My vision is to help organisations do the same.

    When people -

    🔸️know that their future is important to their organisation;
    They will show up - mentally, physically and emotionally.

    I help leaders and teams to celebrate what's working well, identify what needs to be better, and work together to create great workplace cultures; putting people first.

    I support organisations to create great workplace cultures;
    🔸️Enabling change through culture conversation workshops, action learning and people plans;.
    🔸️Focusing on "what it looks and feels like to work here"; facilitating workshops to identify workplace challenges and encourage collaboration to agree people -focused action plans.
    The impact of this is building relationships, increased employee engagement, improved recruitment and retention, increased employee satisfaction and productivity; achieving business objectives and, ultimately "making work better".

     

    As an Investors in People Practitioner:
    I work with leadership teams to assist them in achieving the Investors in People Standard, which is a mark of excellence in people management and development:
    🔸️Understanding your organisational goals, culture and challenges;
    🔸️Assessing current people practices, through surveys, interviews and review of current practices;
    🔸️Offering support, guidance, training and development to improve the management and development of your people;
    🔸️Providing reports, recommendations and support to create action plans to improve employee engagement, productivity, and overall business performance.

     

    As an Associate with My Home Life:
    I facilitate Leadership Development and Training programmes to support care leaders to build long term resilience, capacity and skills.
     
    My Career:
    General manager – Recruiting, growing and developing teams, working with families, and health and socialcare professionals to ensure best practice. Achieving outstanding CQC, EHO 5* and accredited at Gold Standard by Investors in people.
    Operations and Projects manager – Leading new-build and community projects; recruiting, mentoring and supporting leadership teams; fostering cultures where individuals and teams thrive and provide excellent customer service for older people and their communities.
    Closely working with HR and L+D teams to provide environments where individuals can achieve their aspirations and developing workforce strategy and succession planning.
    Re-design of recruitment processes to streamline and create people focused approaches to attract, recruit and retain excellent team members.
    Customer Feedback Manager – Leading the customer service and feedback functions; identifying challenges and supporting teams with strategies for continuous improvement. Providing culture workshops and action learning across multiple sites.

     

    Also about Me
    I love being outside, running, walking, paddleboarding, pilates and yoga - I also love kitchen dancing (in fact anywhere dancing!), reading a book, and retail therapy now and then. I have a 26 year old son and 22 year old daughter and have been married to Mark for 30 years. I am learning Spanish and keep starting at beginner level for several years - my aim is to go on a Spanish immersion course, as soon as I can pluck up the courage!
